current mood: artistic
current song: John Denver & The Muppets Christmas CD (haha!)

[Bad username: Ok, so this piece is *completely* unrelated to what the entry is about...lol. However, it's a charming piece of work that I find incredibly inspiring. A good representation of my chaotic/gothy creativity that's been peaking though lately. I wish I knew where I got it from..... It's been a few months since I've been able to come back to LJ, and rather than going over little details of things I really cannot remember, I'll just do a quick run-down. PA Christmas Show last week went well. We learned many new things, did our business, and even got some Yule shopping done. Yay!! Have been dealing with the little problem that I was having, and things are getting better. Got the NEW site up and running. Still adding my teas, herbs & some other things...and need to do a general editing of a few things. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty good. Seeking some reviews, which are currently underway. OH! And I almost forgot...for friends, close friends, I mean...I'm putting together a "discount" option that will never expire...a GOOD discount. ;) Those of you who think you might use it, let me know and I'll send you the code once it's finished. For the sake of diversity & fun, I've made a HUGE decision...it may seem minute...but for me it was a difficult one to make. I'm going to bring my hairs natural color out for a while...attempt to keep some variety & fun. For the record, I'm a natural blonde. My hair color is quite similar to that of the blonde you see on the Amish / PA Dutch around here. A sort of "dirty" blonde. Yea, that'll be me soon. I'm going to use my own hair dye combination with lemon, mullein, chamomile, etc. to dye it. We'll see what happens! So in light of the drastic news, we took one last photo...a remembrance & adieu to the red hair that has been apart of me for nearly a decade.... (sorry for the drama...it's really a big step for me!!!) Sorry the picture is a little blurry, I tried fixing it, but all it did was make funny dots on my hair...LOL. Now, notice in this picture that you can see the blue eye and the green eye. Oh, and the difference in pupil sizes. As a kid, I LOATHED that...it *always* showed up in pictures. Today, it's not so bad. At least it's only noticeable in photos, for the most part. I'm contemplating a book on natural cleaners & such...We've already started one on natural living in general. A sort of progressive text as we approach ourselves closer to our Homestead...but this is a little different. Other things I'm pondering is, should it include spiritual stuff in there? I'm leaning towards yes...but we'll see...more on that later. A conversation with colmunson has sort of inspired me to venture back into my Earth Path text. I love the changing of the seasons...It's not just the weather at this time of year...for me, it's a learning experience. The leaves begin to go bear, and there's a whole new world of learning behind them. From what nest came from what bird to what that tree is by it's bark to that strange flower on the roadside. Today, I heard crows in the backyard. They were "sounding alarm" to each other in the trees, communicating of the predator at the foot of the tree. So out of curiosity I walked to the window to see what it was....lo and behold, a cat is sitting there, completely ignoring them. It was neat. =) I've always had a strong desire to connect with Land Spirits, or as we now know them, Landvaettir and become well acquainted with the cycles and languages of nature. Another thing I've been reading up on is the "Language of Birds" as aforementioned. Apparently, after only a few minutes of research I learned that there is a great deal of information available...that the language of the birds is across various cultures in history, including Norse. To understand the birds was to have the capability of not only divination, but also considered like a "news channel" in the sense that by understanding them, one would know what was going on in the world. According to myth, understanding the language of the birds was a sign of great wisdom. Here's a pretty neat picture I found from an Icelandic Saga. It regards Huginn and Muninn, two ravens that informed Odin of the going ons in the mortal world. As I do research, I'll post it here for any one who might be interested. In all honesty, it's been a while since I've been able to pick up a book, or study the millions of things that I'd like to. Or paint the pictures I keep conjuring up in my imagination (I should really write those down before I forget them!). I was having this discussion just yesterday. Time seems so short, and it feels a little discouraging in the sense that there's just no time, and a million things I'd like to accomplish...or I feel I should have by now. That being said...you know who you are...do not feel so discouraged, for you are not the only one, and I know that I'm not either. The time will come to us, and it will only get easier as the kids get older (in theory...LOL). Well, this is all I have to say for now. I must be off to give the wee bairns their bath. Till we meet again, farvel! **********UPDATE: I never added a link for the book I referred to above. Click Here to see it. ]
